For the third straight year, a team of GlynnDevins associates spent a day giving back to the larger community as they helped a local senior with some basic home maintenance through the Christmas in October initiative.
On Saturday, Oct. 8, a group of about 20 associates led by Lindsey Riechers, senior art director, invested some sweat equity in a property by cleaning and repairing gutters, remediating wood rot, tidying the yard and painting the entire house.
For more than 30 years, Christmas in October has paired volunteers with individuals and families in the greater Kansas City area whose home and/or property are in need of some TLC. Many of the recipients are seniors, veterans or low-income homeowners.
Each year, GlynnDevins goes through a list of applicants collected by Christmas in October, and narrows it down to a handful of possible properties. After visiting each site, one property is selected that best fits the resources and abilities of the group.
